The renewal application proposed no changes to the previously approved footprint or operating procedures. Staff recommended approval with conditions to ensure sanitation, sewage disposal, security, traffic control and other operational safeguards; the special exception is structured so ongoing compliance is checked annually through the outdoor entertainment permit process rather than having a fixed expiration date.
The applicant’s attorney confirmed agreement with staff conditions. Commissioners noted the site’s function in promoting tourism and recreational opportunities in the Halifax Activity Center Local Plan area and approved the special exception with the recommended conditions.
The permit requires the operator to secure an outdoor entertainment permit for each event to verify compliance with public‑safety and sanitation conditions.
