Section 8 participant urges correction of tenant file and payment records
Summary
A Section 8 participant who requested anonymity told the advisory board on March 19 that housing staff accepted unverified documents from property management and included a nonprofit’s finances in their file; the participant said management refused their rent checks and they are awaiting payment history from February 2011.

During the public-comment period on March 19, a Section 8 participant (who asked that their name not be published) told the Orange County Housing Authority Advisory Board that they have been in contact with housing staff but remain concerned about how documents from property management are handled and recorded.
The participant said a nonprofit they once helped start is no longer run by them and that its finances should not be part of their housing file. They disputed a claim that they had not paid rent, saying their bank sent payments and that management refused their checks. The participant asked for a complete payment history going back to February 2011 and said they have not yet received that documentation from staff.
The comment was entered during the board's public-comment period; the transcript records the concern but shows no board action or staff response in that segment.
