Yreka council votes to cancel July 7 regular meeting

The Yreka City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to cancel its regular meeting scheduled for July 7, 2026.
Council Member Middleton moved to cancel the meeting and Council Member Davis seconded. City Clerk Cindy explained that because the holiday falls on a Saturday the turnaround time for preparing an agenda would be only about a day and that canceling the meeting would ease staff workload. The motion passed on a unanimous voice/roll call vote.
Council members said items planned for the July 7 agenda would be moved to the second meeting in July and that no significant deadlines would be missed by the cancelation.
