Lincoln County secures local bridge grant for two county bridges, repairs planned

A county commissioner told the Lincoln County Commission that the county’s recent local bridge funding request was successful and that funding has been secured to repair two county bridges, including the 17-mile bridge.
“Last week when I presented you with that letter that we put in for the local bridge funding request, we actually got the funding,” the commissioner said. The presenter said the grant packet included state inspection reports for both structures and that the county submitted documents quickly after the call for applications was issued.
The commissioner said he had sent the required document via DocuSign the previous day and that repairs on the two bridges will be scheduled. He noted that the bridges are among the oldest major bridges in the county and that state inspection findings were used in the grant application.
No formal vote was required for the report; the commissioner presented the update during the commissioners’ reports segment of the agenda. The commission did not take additional action during the meeting beyond acknowledging receipt of the funding.
