Lincoln County approves AED program, declines Evergreen hauling contract and awards campus repair bid

Solid waste/hauling: After several discussions about costs and the county’s options, commissioners voted to decline renewal of the Evergreen hauling contract and to instead pursue operating the county's green-box dumpster sites in-house via lease agreements and county personnel. Commissioners noted startup costs but emphasized long-term control and the potential to avoid future contract dependence. Resident Jonathan Jameson told the board he supported taking the service in-house.
Campus repairs and audits: The commission opened bids for repairs to the Flathead Valley Community College Lincoln County campus and accepted a low bid of $312,940.80 from Complete Restoration; ServePro of Callispel submitted a higher bid ($411,915). Commissioners said the engineer recommended Complete Restoration as the most complete and timely bid. Separately, the county renewed its annual auditing contract with Nexus CPA Group; commissioners noted the company has provided prior audits under a different firm name and approved renewal.
Next steps and funding: Commissioners noted some budget flexibility for the hauling decision and that the Evergreen contract does not expire until November, allowing time for planning. The Complete Restoration contract award will proceed to contracting and execution. The county did not provide vote tallies beyond voice votes at the meeting for the items listed.
