Planning commission reviews Master Plan goals and objectives; resident urges care on development impacts

The Otsego Planning Commission spent part of its Oct. 14 meeting reviewing Chapter 4 (Goals & Objectives) of the city Master Plan and proposing recommended edits.
Member Mitchell led a section-by-section review and said he would communicate the commission’s recommendations and proposed changes to Lori Costello of PCI and circulate final updates to the commission. He told commissioners that the next Master Plan topic to be reviewed will be the Future Land Use Map.
During the public comment period, resident Kyle Mead of 205 N. North said his home had no water pressure and urged commissioners to consider water pressure, increased bridge and road traffic, potential increases in people using the property, and the narrow width of Helen Avenue when evaluating new development. "I hope that water pressure, increased traffic on the bridge and roads, and the narrowness of Helen Avenue are taken into consideration," Mead said.
Member Mitchell also noted that representatives of HoM Flats were unable to attend and are expected at the November Planning Commission meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
