Marlborough selectmen approve FY26-27 personnel budget and capital adjustments; forward budget to finance board
Summary

The Marlborough Board of Selectmen took three budget votes Feb. 17, approving personnel and capital items and directing the town manager to present the budget to the Board of Finance.
Anthony Bratz moved to accept the FY27 personnel budget as presented; Louise Concodello seconded. The motion carried 4–1, with Chair Susan McFarland voting no. Later, McFarland moved to approve the capital improvement program with a reduction for Fire House 2 and to apply TAR grant and speed camera funds; John Rizza seconded. The capital motion passed with one abstention (Joseph Asklar).
Finally, Mr. Bratz moved that the board present the budget as discussed to the Board of Finance, not to exceed the current total. Ms. Concodello seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The board also instructed Town Manager David Porter to provide more detail on several budget line items at a future meeting.
The motions approved portions of the FY26-27 budget but did not specify final line-item detail for every account; further review and detail will be provided to the Board of Finance as requested by the selectmen.
