Marlborough authorizes town manager to sign two LOTCIP road reconstruction grant applications

The Marlborough Board of Selectmen voted Feb. 17 to authorize Town Manager David Porter to sign two grant applications for road reconstruction projects that will be submitted February 18 to LOTCIP and CCROG.
Peter Hughes, the town's Director of Planning & Development, presented two proposed projects: Jones Hollow Road to Cheney Road (Phase 1) and West Road from Jones Hollow Road to the Hebron town line (Phase 2). Hughes said the town generally pays design costs (typically 4–6% of construction) while the grants cover 100% of construction costs.
Susan McFarland moved to authorize the Town Manager to sign the grant applications; Louise Concodello seconded and the motion carried by voice vote. The applications were scheduled for submission Feb. 18, 2026.
No construction contract or funding appropriations were approved at the meeting; the motion authorized only submission and signature for the grant applications.
