Council heard brief community updates and approved local support for cultural and recreational events.
Mayor Charles and Chief Mark Snyder described plans for a volunteer-run July 4th event at Bain/Devane Park (10 a.m.–2 p.m.), with music, family activities and a police barbecue; the Legacy Foundation will host fireworks at 9 p.m. and the town contributed $5,000 toward the event. Organizers are collecting volunteers and donations via an email contact noted at the meeting.
Louise England, representing the Caladium Arts & Crafts Cooperative, asked the council for a letter of support for a Florida Division of Arts and Cultural Facilities Grant to replace a failing, leaking roof that is damaging crafts and a mural. Council moved, seconded and authorized the mayor to provide the letter of support; council recorded that the action carries no fiscal impact to the town.
Councilmembers also received status updates on pickleball-court bid preparations and asked staff to provide a reserves spreadsheet as part of upcoming budget workshops.
