Planning Board seeks Select Board assurance to advance draft septic-inspection ordinance for shoreland properties

After discussion the board agreed more work is needed and moved to seek assurance from the Select Board that it will support advancing the ordinance as a warrant article for a future town vote. Bill Farren moved the motion; Joan Jackson seconded. The motion passed, recorded as 4-1 in favor.
Board members noted the draft needs further refinement and Select Board feedback before the Planning Board advances it. The item was tabled pending that assurance. The Planning Board recorded an action item for Chair Farren to ask the Select Board whether it will support placing the ordinance on a warrant.
Next steps: Chair Farren to ask the Select Board about supporting the ordinance as a warrant article; Planning Board will continue refining the draft and obtain any required legal or agency guidance prior to bringing the ordinance forward.
