Orrville announces leaf pickup schedule, compost center closing and winter restroom closures

The Orrville City Council received several operations updates at its Nov. 18, 2024 meeting. Safety-Service Director Wheeler reported that the first round of leaf pickup is finishing and the city will begin a second round near the end of the week.
Wheeler said the compost centerrun by the citywill have its last open day on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Park restroom facilities are being closed for the winter season, with two heated restrooms kept open year-round: the restroom at the pickleball courts and the restroom at the Depot. The city also continues roadway striping operations.
Mayor Plybon noted preparations for the Home for the Holidays decorations, and Councilmember Lax reported that the local American Legion served 33 veterans at a recent Veterans Day steak fry.
No formal votes were recorded on these operational items; they were presented as administrative updates to the council.
