Mayor Gary Blackburn told the council that crews repaired a leak on Oak Street and another behind the Short Stop and presented the Benton Washington Regional Public Water Authority 2024 Consumer Confidence Report for the council's information.
Council Member Kitterman moved to approve the March Systems Total Report; Council Member Smead seconded the motion and the council approved it. Mayor Blackburn also reported that Performance Services completed an in‑depth analysis of the water system; he said he will bring the results of the April 11 meeting with Performance Services to the May 2025 council meeting for further consideration.
Why it matters: an unaccounted‑for water loss above 20 percent is material for small systems and can signal leaks, metering gaps or billing errors that affect revenues and water conservation. The council approved the report and will receive additional consultant findings next month.
