DEUEL COUNTY, S.D. — Two residents asked Deuel County commissioners on June 16 to engage with Brookings County officials about a proposed 765 kilovolt transmission line and raised questions about advisory-board representation.
Resident Steve January reported he had attended an advisory meeting in Brookings County about the proposed 765 kV powerline and restated a medical concern he previously presented in Deuel County. Mary Nosbush told the board she was not prepared to speak in detail but asked why Tim Rogers, identified as being with Xcel Energy, was serving on Brookings County’s advisory board on the project. Chairman Jay Grabow said he would contact Brookings County Commissioner VanderWal to follow up.
No formal action on the transmission project was taken by the Deuel County board during the meeting; the comments were recorded during the public comment period.
