The Williamson County road district meeting was called to order at 10:30 a.m. on November 18. The board approved the minutes and then voted to authorize payment of bills for several road districts and to reimburse expenses tied to the Avery Delco Avery Center project.
Commissioner Long moved to approve the payments and the reimbursement item; the chair seconded the motion. The chair recorded the motion as carried 5-0. "I move to approve item number 2, which is the payment of bills and, item number 3, which is the reimbursement of expenses, on Avery Delco Avery Center, project," said Commissioner Long (speaker 3).
Staff described the county’s review process for reimbursements. A staff member said Mr. England, an engineer who formerly worked for the county, reviews reimbursement requests from an engineering perspective while district staff review financials. The staff member said Mr. England reviewed work on Medical Parkway and that additional invoices from him are expected for October and November. "Mr. England is an engineer, as you know, that used to work for the county," the staff member said. Another staff participant added that the engineer "does work for all of the road districts" and checks whether specific items — for example, portions of a detention pond — are legitimately reimbursable.
The chair recorded the vote as five in favor and none opposed. With the vote concluded, the chair adjourned the road district meeting at 10:32 a.m.
The action completes routine oversight of district expenditures for the named road districts — Pearson Place Road District; Northwoods Road District; Somerset Hills Number 3 Road District; Somerset Hills Number 4 Road District; and Avery Center Number 1 Road District — and authorizes staff to process the described reimbursements and forthcoming invoices.
