Wymore Council approves routine claims, community events and meetings at Jan. 4 session

Wymore Mayor Collin Meints called the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. on Jan. 4. Councilmembers approved the minutes of the previous meeting and moved through several routine items, including claims, payroll and community event approvals.
The council voted to approve claims and payroll generally while temporarily excluding checks #26278, #26304 and #26313 for separate action. Council later approved checks #26278 and #26304 with Councilperson Max Allen recorded as an abstention, and approved check #26313 with Councilperson Neil Van Boening abstaining. All motions carried per the minutes.
Council approved use of the community center kitchen for a community coffee on Jan. 13 and authorized the use of Keno funds to purchase refreshments. Members also approved hosting the Southeastern Area City Association (SEACA) meeting on Feb. 16, 2023.
The council approved Chris Hyberger’s attendance at pesticide application school on Feb. 16, with expenses and mileage covered, and designated the Fairbury Journal News as the city’s official newspaper after the paper presented subscriber information to council.
The meeting adjourned at 8:29 p.m.
