Board approves renewal of juvenile-detention contract with Nebraska; county earned roughly $100,000 last year

The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors approved the county’s annual contract to house youth from the State of Nebraska at the county juvenile-detention facility.
Ryan Weber, juvenile-detention staff, said the contract has operated successfully and Nebraska pays $24 per day under the current arrangement. Weber reported the program generated more than $100,000 in revenue for the county over the last year.
The board approved the contract by voice vote 5-0 and commended juvenile-detention staff for managing the program.
