- Item 1: Approved recommendation for Eric Rodales’ new operator’s license to be forwarded to council. - Item 3: Approved renewal for Selena Castillo’s operator license subject to assessment demerit points noted in the committee packet. - Item 4: Victoria Sanford’s pet fancier permit was approved in the applicant’s absence. - Item 5: TK Kenosha LLC’s temporary outdoor extension for an outdoor music event on Sept. 13, 2025, was approved; one committee member announced an abstention because of a potential conflict of interest. - Item 7: Sloor’s Group LLC parklet and outdoor-cafe requests were approved. - Item 8: Olson and Porter Vintage Goods LLC — items 8a–8c (new class C liquor, probationary cabaret, outdoor dining) were approved; item 8d (parklet) was approved conditionally subject to Public Works and Community Development sign-off so it would not need to return to Licensing & Permit. - Item 9: The outdoor dining item for Wilson and Porter Vintage Goods LLC was denied after committee discussion. - Item 10: Recommendation to approve AJ’s Restaurant, Deli and Drinks LLC new class B license was approved and will be forwarded to council. - Item 11: Tapas and Tango LLC class E license was recommended for approval despite at least one nay recorded. - Item 12: Renewal applications for multiple class B beer/class B liquor licenses were discussed, separated as needed, and approved subject to standard renewal conditions and nonuse rules where applicable. - Item 13: Rodriguez Gutierrez’s peddler-stand application for an Anderson Pool Park spot was approved.
Committee process and next steps
Most approvals were carried by voice vote; where the committee recorded concerns about traffic, placement or safety — notably the Olson & Porter parklet — the committee approved with conditions that Public Works and Community Development must clear specific issues. The committee’s voting recommendations are advisory and will be included in the council packet for the next City Council meeting, where final action will be taken.
A number of applicant hearings included discussion of demerit-point accounting and whether applicants had disclosed incidents on applications; staff and the city attorney explained the committee’s use of demerit points as a tracking and licensing standard.
