The superintendent and Mr. Jones told the board Mesa View Elementary is substantially complete and the district sought approval of a specialized, wheelchair-accessible playground to serve the school’s significant special-education population. Staff presented the proposed equipment, design features and installation schedule.
Mr. Jones said the district has invited PSFA to determine the funding split; staff estimated the district’s share would be roughly 26% and suggested the equipment procurement proceed under a CES contract so the installation can be completed in time for the school year. Board members discussed capital-bond funding sources and the district’s facility master plan.
The board voted to approve a CES contract with Xer Play to procure and install the playground equipment; the final dollar split and PSFA contribution will be recorded when PSFA completes its review.
