Greater Vancouver Chamber outlines business‑support programs, youth workforce efforts to Battleground council

Greater Vancouver Chamber President John Mcdana and COO Janet Kineski briefed the Battleground City Council on regional business programs and community partnerships.
Kineski told council the chamber serves more than 1,000 businesses across Clark County and emphasized programs aimed at small business technical assistance, workforce development and nonprofit support. “We bring together CEOs…to hear what the community needs and bridge communication with business,” she said.
The chamber described a local merchant gift‑certificate program in which merchants redeem community currency and reported more than $80,000 in circulation and $200,000 redeemed to date. Staff also highlighted youth programs: a civics B initiative that brings middle schoolers before council and Lemonade Day, in which children learn entrepreneurship and generated roughly $40,000 in sales during a recent event.
Mayor and council members thanked the chamber for its educational and retention efforts; councilors requested follow‑up materials including a demographics report and slides for council distribution.
What's next: Chamber will provide the requested demographic and program participation reports to council staff.
