On the Great Salt Lake, Pomaloy said he recently toured exposed lakebeds and described the situation as urgent. “The Great Salt Lake is in crisis right now,” he said, and urged commissioners to rely on subject-matter experts and regional collaboration. He explained the county’s limited direct authority over the lake while noting Davis County participates in advisory and regional groups working on mitigation and conservation.
