Castle described Stevens as an original member of the trust and said the authority’s early programs expanded access to homeownership in Calcasieu Parish, noting early interest-rate examples and the impact on first‑time buyers. Jurors and attendees applauded and shared personal remembrances of Stevens’ community involvement.
