The Cody Planning, Zoning & Adjustment Board approved a downtown business sign district review on June 18 permitting an attached wall sign and an attached door/window sign for the lessees recorded in the meeting as "Morris and Merlee" at 1043 13th Street.
Jenny, city staff, told the board the lessees "just moved in as a building lessee at 1043 13th Street and would like to put up an attached wall sign, near the entrance door just to the left of it that is 8 foot by 3 foot 2 inches," and that the door/window element is considered an attached wall sign. Jenny said both signs are within city code requirements and that staff recommended approval with the condition that the applicant obtain a building permit.
A Committee member moved to approve the downtown business sign district review, including the resolution referenced in the staff report; Jenny seconded the motion. The Chair called for a voice vote and recorded "Aye," after which the Chair declared the motion approved. The board did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript; the action was approved by voice vote.
The staff condition requiring a building permit remains the regulatory step before installation. The record contains variant spellings of the lessees' names in different lines of the transcript (transcribed as "Morris and Merlee," and elsewhere rendered as "Morris Emeryley" and "Morris And Merley"); the board minutes should be consulted for the official spelling and applicant contact information.
The board moved on to the next agenda item without further discussion.
