Lawrence County prison board honors Debbie Warden on her retirement

At a meeting of the Lawrence County Prison Board, members recognized Debbie Warden — referred to as Loretta — for her service as a county commissioner and deputy warden and then moved to adjourn.

On behalf of the board, the presiding member said, "On behalf of the Lawrence County Prison Board, I think that it's a privilege and honor to say thank you for everything that you've done for Lawrence County." The speaker also noted Warden "may be retiring, apparently on the 20th."

Warden responded that she was "just happy for the opportunity to have had to have done that," and described her time working inside the jail as "truly enlightening." She thanked medical and support personnel and reflected on working with colleagues, saying she had "the utmost respect for everybody that is there, our including our medical personnel, support personnel."

After the remarks, a board member asked for a motion to adjourn and said, "I'll make the motion." Another member seconded the motion; the presiding member called for a voice vote and members indicated their assent.
