The Audubon County Board of Supervisors on March 30 approved right-of-way acquisition for the LE-8 Bridge Replacement Project and approved the plans and bid documents for the LE-8 project. Engineer Mitch Rydl presented the LE-8 plans, discussed utilities in the project area and said the project is proposed to be finished by November 2026. Rydl also said he would submit the notice to bidders to the newspaper for publication this week.
The board separately reviewed and approved plans for the DO-18 Bridge Replacement Project. Both approvals were made by motion (moved by Supervisor Heath Hansen and seconded by Don Mosinski) and recorded in the minutes as passing unanimously.
The minutes note discussion of existing utilities in areas affected by the LE-8 work; no permitting details, contractor award, or project budget figures were included in the minutes. The board instructed county engineering staff to proceed with public notice and the bidding process for the LE-8 project as described.
No public comments on either bridge project were recorded in the minutes. The county engineer will proceed with publishing the Notice to Bidders and moving the LE-8 schedule toward the fall 2026 completion target.
The meeting adjourned at 9:48 a.m.
