Auditor Lisa Frederiksen met with the Board of Supervisors at 9:30 a.m. to review recent adjustments proposed for the FY27 Auditor budget. Frederiksen identified specific line items she had increased and decreased as part of the budget review and recapped that she and Chairman Kent Grabill attended the State Auditor’s Office exit conference for the FY25 audit.
Frederiksen told the board the Auditor's Office will be closed April 1, 2026, so staff can attend SEAT training in Fort Dodge. She also announced the filing period for the Primary Election has begun. After discussion, Chairman Grabill and Supervisor Heath Hansen reviewed the reasoning for the FY27 property tax levy publication and instructed the auditor to submit the levy notice to the newspaper for publication next week.
The minutes do not record a separate formal vote on the levy publication; the record shows the chair and a supervisor provided direction to the auditor. The board did not set a public hearing date or finalize levy figures in the March 3 minutes.
