Bay Shore recognizes Seal of Biliteracy recipients and national writing award winners

During public session the board presented recognitions for student achievement. The coordinator said Bay Shore was reviewed by the State Task Force and noted the district's application process and student panel interviews were singled out positively during the review.
Following the Seal of Biliteracy recognition, the board recognized several Bay Shore High School students who received writing distinctions from the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Presenters named recipients and described the national contest parameters and judges' international participation. Students and staff were applauded and photographed during the presentations.
Board members praised the students, thanked staff and advisers who supported their candidacies, and encouraged continued multilingual and writing skill development. No policy changes were proposed as part of the recognitions; these were celebratory acknowledgments of student achievement.
