Bay Shore board approves routine personnel, financial and contract items including reserve transfers

The Bay Shore Union Free School District Board of Education voted on a wide consent agenda at its June meeting, approving minutes, professional staff resignations and appointments, civil service actions, substitute and summer appointments, and reappointments for food-service and other staff. The board also accepted donations: a set of photo/document frames to Gardner Manor School from Jack De Silva and interactive communication boards donated by Rocco's Voice for Autism for Brook Avenue, Gardner Manor, and Fifth Avenue schools to support students with special needs. Other actions included endorsement of Committee on Special Education (CSE) and Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) recommendations and the appointment of Nabeela Khan as the 2026-27 student ex-officio board member, to be sworn in at the July 1 reorganization meeting. The board approved amendments to employment agreements for Superintendent Dr. Steven J. Maloney, Deputy Superintendent Maureen Versinger, and Director of Technology Michael Versinger.
