Conservation commission approves several compliance items, continues multiple hearings and sets next-steps

The Yarmouth Port Conservation Commission approved multiple compliance actions and scheduled continuances across its April 2, 2026 agenda.
Motions carried included: issuance of a Certificate of Compliance for SE83-1105 (Down Cape Engineering for Robert Wiggins) after staff recommended issuing the COC while separating unresolved boardwalk issues (motion carried 7-0); issuance of a Certificate of Compliance with ongoing conditions for SE83-2150 (Shorefront Consulting for David McCarthy) while enforcement-ordered plantings and monitoring remain outstanding (7-0); issuance of an OOC for a driveway and patio expansion at 8 Flintlock Way with special conditions including hand clipping of mitigation-area invasive vines (SE83-2524, 7-0); issuance of an OOC for a deck expansion at 146 Mayflower Terrace with special conditions (SE83-2528, 7-0); and approval of an invasive-species management plan pending revisions and a continuance to assess bank growth (SE83-2270, continued/reviewed with motion carried 7-0).
Several hearings were continued to April 16, 2026 for revisions or additional documentation, including the after-the-fact boardwalk and garage addition at the Wiggins property (SE83-2525) and the revetment proposal at Great Island Road (applicant-requested continuance). The commission also approved meeting minutes from March 19 and reminded the public of updated regulations effective April 19, 2026, a Community Preservation Committee meeting on April 8, a Community Biodiversity Initiative and vernal pool assessments partnership, and a Volunteer Cleanup Day on April 25. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
Where staff noted outstanding items—such as missing soil-evaluation forms, required planting plans, or monitoring reports—motions either included ongoing conditions or set continuance dates to ensure those materials are submitted before final closeout or further approvals.
