Broken Bow council adopts ACH policy, approves surplus-vehicle sale and consent agenda

The Broken Bow City Council unanimously approved several administrative actions Feb. 24, including adoption of a formal ACH Originator Policy, authorization to sell two surplus city vehicles, and routine consent items.
Councilmember Russ Smith moved, and Travis Kleeb seconded, approval of the consent agenda covering the Feb. 10 minutes, Bills to Date, and the January 2026 Treasurer’s Report. The document packet lists vendor payments and subscriptions totaling a grand total of $161,342.16 and a bi-weekly payroll of $78,988.64; the Council approved the consent agenda by roll call vote (4-0).
City Clerk Jennifer Waterhouse presented Resolution 2026-02 to adopt the City of Broken Bow ACH Originator Policy and Procedures, which she said “outlines the City’s responsibilities, internal controls, and procedures for initiating electronic payments and collections through the ACH Network,” and is intended to ensure compliance with the Nacha Operating Rules. The Council voted 4-0 to adopt the resolution.
Mayor Rod Sonnichsen introduced Resolution 2026-03 authorizing the sale of two surplus City vehicles; the Council approved the sale by unanimous roll call.
All formal votes recorded were unanimous (yes: Russ Smith, Travis Kleeb, Joe Wamsley, Paul Holland). The meeting adjourned at 6:11 p.m.
