Park County departments report on extension programs, roads, recycling and staffing

Public works reported several near-term projects: replacing a flooded sidewalk at the dispatch entrance in June, pursuing bids and planning to replace the Deep Creek culvert in August (pending permits), addressing Horse Street and a bypass bridge to reduce school-bus impacts, pothole patching and the start of Pine Creek millings in June. The department also noted a new metal recycling contract, work on a facility maintenance policy and collection-site improvements.
HR said four employees have their last day this Friday, two positions have already been filled and payroll cross-training is underway to ensure continuity.
The museum announced a board meeting and two open positions and promoted upcoming family-day and living-history events. Planning staff said they will engage communities regarding the Land Use Planning Act and move final subdivision regulation drafts to the attorney—s office before beginning formal public review.
