New Limington residents seek conditional-use permit to keep two horses at 6 Moody Road; board schedules sitewalk

At the April 6 meeting, new property owner Amory Seymour asked the Limington Planning Board for a conditional-use permit to keep two horses at 6 Moody Road. “My goal with Six Moody Road is to hopefully have my two horses, Rocky and Waffles, live at home with us,” Seymour said, and described her background working for an equine veterinarian and experience with daily manure management.
Neighbors raised questions about boundaries, manure storage and the 300-foot setback from the stream. The board clarified that manure storage must be 300 feet from the watercourse and noted the applicant agreed to use a removable bin serviced regularly so manure would not be left loose in the back field. Residents asked to see the updated boundary survey to confirm where the 300-foot circle falls relative to the barn and pasture.
The board and applicant agreed to a sitewalk so members and neighbors can inspect the barn shell, the proposed stall locations and the stream setback on the ground. The sitewalk for 6 Moody Road was scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at 1:30 p.m. The applicant was told stalls and other infrastructure must be in place before horses are brought onto the property.
What happens next: the board will inspect the property during the sitewalk; the conditional-use permit will return to a public hearing after the board reviews the site and any additional documentation requested.
