Historical society to feature Stanley Steamer rides at Mechanic Falls Community Day on Aug. 5

Mechanic Falls — During public comment at the July 17 meeting, Eriks Petersons, speaking on behalf of the Historical Society, said the Stanley Steamer Museum in Kingfield will bring a Stanley Steamer to Mechanic Falls Community Day on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The museum will accept donations; Petersons noted that the prototype engine for the car was developed and constructed at J.W. Penney in Mechanic Falls.
The announcement was presented as part of public comment and the council noted the event will be promoted via local radio; the town manager said he and Community Days Committee members will appear on WOXO to help advertise the event.
