Martin said the board will continue community outreach in November, hold a workshop ahead of the Nov. 13 school board meeting, and host a public meeting on Nov. 14 to answer questions. She said the school board has applied to the Department of Education for funding to help pay for repairs and expects a response by February 2024; any funding is likely to be a mix of grants and loans depending on the district’s subsidy level.
Martin said the school board needs a budget decision by December to allow FY2024–25 budgeting to proceed, and that the board is seeking a member for the RSU 16 Budget Committee. The council did not act on the school board’s requests at this meeting; Martin’s remarks were recorded as public comment.
