Mechanic Falls council approves liquor, special-amusement and cannabis renewals

The Mechanic Falls Town Council voted unanimously Jan. 8 to approve a set of business license renewals and special-amusement permits for local establishments.
Councilor Ray Lavoie moved to accept the liquor-license application for the Little Brick Pub; Councilor Darrell Young seconded and the motion passed 5-0. Councilor Paula Stotts moved to accept special-amusement permits for The Little Brick Pub, The Silver Spur and American Legion Post 150; Councilor Young seconded and that motion also passed 5-0. The council likewise approved cannabis-license renewals for High Rollers and for 420 Pharma by unanimous votes.
The Town Manager reported there were no public comments during the hearings. The Village Pizzeria liquor-license renewal was removed from the agenda and rescheduled for the Feb. 5 meeting because the renewal application had not been received.
The unanimous votes mean the affected businesses may continue operating under their existing or renewed licenses pending any standard municipal or state-level administrative processing. The council did not add conditions to the approvals during the meeting.
The council concluded the licensing portion of the agenda and moved on to other business.
