The Waukesha Water Utility Commission publicly recognized General Manager Dan on June 19 for 22 years of service to the utility and to the city.
During the meeting, the chair read a letter that praised Dan’s leadership through major projects, particularly the Great Water Alliance. Commissioners presented Dan a plaque and a gift certificate to a Bartolotta restaurant to be used within Waukesha County. Dan told the commission his last day is tomorrow and thanked staff, the commission and the public.
"It's been a pleasure," Dan said, and commissioners thanked him for his long service and the completion of the Great Water Alliance project.
The commission took no formal policy action as part of the recognition; staff said they are preparing a transition plan and job description to present at a forthcoming meeting.
