Town Clerk Tresa Taylor said a customer whose water service had been shut off in October 2025 tampered with the water setter to turn the service back on. Town staff pulled data from the meter to determine the activation date and assessed the account a $600 penalty for tampering with a water service or removing a lock.
Clerk Taylor presented the enforcement action to the council as part of staff reporting; the council did not record further enforcement action during the meeting. The incident was logged for the town’s records and reflected in billing and collections procedures.
