Oldsmar, Fla. — The City Council adopted Ordinance 2026-08 on June 16, amending the code to allow golf carts to operate on park roads and designated parking areas and to permit use on athletic fields only by agreement and approval of the city manager.
City Attorney Tom Trask read the ordinance by title and opened a required public hearing; no members of the public spoke for or against the measure. On a roll-call vote Mayor Gannon, Vice Mayor Graber, Councilmember Howdeshell-Ski, Councilmember Olmstead and Councilmember Swauger voted yes; the ordinance passed 5–0.
The ordinance also preserves standard codification provisions such as severability and an effective date. No substantive changes had been made since the ordinance's first reading on June 2, the attorney said, and the council concluded the second reading with the adoption vote.
