Ambridge Area Board approves middle‑school TSI plan and 2026–27 school calendar

Mrs. Remashedo, speaking for the Education and Technology committee, presented the TSI plan and said the report “acknowledges our student groups that face both academic and student‑success challenges” and outlines targeted supports and interventions to help those students reach proficiency and academic growth. The board then discussed scheduling and logistics for the coming school year.
The board set the first day of student attendance for Monday, August 24, 2026, with teachers returning Thursday, August 20. Instructional times approved were: elementary 8:25 a.m.–3:05 p.m.; middle school 7:30 a.m.–2:26 p.m.; and high school 7:30 a.m.–2:26 p.m. Teacher start/end times were listed as elementary 7:50 a.m.–3:25 p.m., middle school 7:25 a.m.–3:00 p.m., and high school 7:25 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Board members moved to adopt agenda items one through 17 as a package; the motion carried on a roll‑call vote with all members voting in favor. The board did not take separate amendments to the TSI plan during the meeting and directed staff to implement the approved interventions as described in the plan.
Next steps: staff will proceed with implementing the TSI interventions and will return with any required updates or progress reports in future committee meetings.
