Cheatham County approves mayoral signatures on copier, delinquent-tax and environmental contracts; funds HVAC and road work; honors student-athletes

Cheatham County commissioners on March 21 approved a package of administrative and operational items the mayor presented, including signatures on vendor agreements, a small professional services contract, building repairs and several ceremonial recognitions.
The commission approved the Mayor’s signature on an RJ Young copier contract (including an EMS addendum), and on a retention agreement hiring Martha Brooke Perry as the county’s delinquent tax attorney for April 1, 2022–March 31, 2023; that attorney’s compensation was set at 10% of the base amount collected as stated in the recorded agreement and consistent with statutory authority in the minutes. Commissioners also approved a $1,500 professional services agreement with Caldwell Environmental Solutions, LLC, to prepare and submit the county’s 2021 Annual Progress Report (APR) to the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
Other approved items included $8,600.12 for a 4‑ton heat‑pump HVAC replacement for the Sheriff’s Department and a Road & Bridge recommendation to add 300 feet to Indian Springs Road. The commission also approved a consent calendar of notary appointments and issued multiple special recognitions honoring area high‑school wrestling teams and athletes.
All administrative motions in this package were adopted by roll call or voice vote as recorded in the meeting minutes; no substantive public objections were recorded during the meeting. The mayor and appropriate departments will complete the usual procurement and contracting follow‑up steps to implement the approved agreements.
