DDA members raise parking concerns as Center Street garage demolition approaches

City Manager Marcus and DDA staff said demolition is approaching and the deck will be closed next week; staff noted that developers have shown interest in the property, which could influence the timing and scope of any temporary surface improvements. The city attorney had previously cautioned about spending to pave an area that might be redeveloped; directors discussed alternatives including reducing scope or delaying DDA participation until plans firm up.
Staff committed to follow up with the city and provide updated options and financial implications to the board prior to demolition and before any additional DDA spending is approved.
