On June 2 the Davis County Commission approved a two-year commercial lease for a temporary North Salt Lake library location to serve southern Davis County while the Bountiful Branch undergoes remodeling.
Library Director Joshua Johnson presented the 1,500-square-foot site with a small conference room, describing the space as intended to provide books, story times and limited meeting space to residents of North Salt Lake and nearby Woods Cross. The lease carries a payable amount of $64,944 for the term beginning June 1, 2026, through May 31, 2028. North Salt Lake City Manager Ken Leetham publicly thanked the County for the investment. Director Johnson told commissioners the site could be operational by late July depending on internet installation and facility setup.
Commissioner Lorene Kamalu moved approval; Vice Chair Bob Stevenson seconded, and the motion passed with all present voting aye.
