Superintendent (identified in the meeting) presented the Superintendent’s Award to Mayeli Sanchez for growth in reading and steady classroom leadership. The superintendent said Sanchez demonstrated “effort, growth, and heart” and praised her perseverance after earlier doubts about reading ability.
The board also acknowledged other students, including Marcus David Graninger, Ian Natcheski, Gabriel Mateo Cooper and Kaylee Cooper, as part of the month’s top 12. Presenters highlighted traits such as responsibility, leadership, curiosity and service to classmates. A short peer-message scroll was read for Gabriel Mateo Cooper to underscore the students’ appreciation.
Family members were invited for photographs and the board and staff thanked volunteers and boosters for supporting student activities. The recognition segment concluded with applause and an invitation for attendees to remain for the regular meeting.
