Temple City council reschedules public hearing on Ordinance 25-1086 for Jan. 20

Temple City’s City Manager Brian Cook told the City Council on Jan. 6 that the public hearing for Ordinance 25-1086 will be rescheduled to Jan. 20.
Cook said staff plans to bifurcate the ordinance into “statemandated changes” and discretionary amendments to the zoning code and that the split and details will be spelled out in the next staff report. “This is just a receiving file. We'll be moving this public hearing to January 20th,” Cook said.
Council members did not receive public comment on the item at the meeting. Because the item was presented as “receive and file,” Council members said no formal motion was necessary on Jan. 6.
The council did not take a formal vote on policy changes related to the ordinance at the Jan. 6 meeting; staff items are expected to return with a full staff report and recommendations at the Jan. 20 meeting. The Jan. 20 staff report will identify which changes are required by higher-level mandates and which are proposed discretionary zoning revisions.
