City Manager Adam told the Temple City Council on Nov. 5 that the city’s Halloween event drew an estimated 3,000–4,000 attendees and that staff distributed more than 50,000 pieces of candy.
"I think based off of informal, uh, estimations, we probably had roughly between 3 to 4,000 people in attendance. We handed out over 50,000 pieces of candy," Adam said.
Adam also announced the city’s Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11 at 10:30 a.m., with remarks from elected representatives and keynote speaker former city employee and veteran Mike Ksky; the ceremony will include free food provided by Athen services. He told the council that Temple City is participating in regional planning for the 2026 World Cup and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and is considering fan zones or live-viewing components.
The council approved the consent calendar after a motion and second; a roll-call vote recorded Council member Chavez, Council member Chen, Mayor Pton Man and Mayor Sternquist as voting yes. The motion passed.
The city manager said staff will keep the council apprised as planning for large regional events progresses.
