The Manitou Springs City Council read three proclamations on June 16, 2026 recognizing Juneteenth, Pride Month and National Pollinator Month (with an observance of Pollinator Week, June 22–28).
Proclamation No. 0826 declared June 19, 2026 as Juneteenth in Manitou Springs and invited residents to reflect on the historical end of slavery and to recommit to dismantling institutional racism. Councilor Carrie Storm read the Juneteenth proclamation into the record.
Proclamation No. 0926, presented by Councilor Gloria Latimer, proclaimed June 2026 as Pride Month in Manitou Springs and encouraged activities that support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual community members and protect civil rights.
Proclamation No. 0726 recognized June 2026 as National Pollinator Month and June 22–28, 2026 as Pollinator Week, noting the role of bees, birds, bats, butterflies and insects in food production and biodiversity and referencing Manitou Springs’s status as a certified pollinator-friendly municipality. The presiding official read the pollinator proclamation into the record and encouraged residents to support pollinator habitat.
