Marlborough fire department announces officers elected March 1; two town maintenance managers resign

The Marlborough Fire Commission reported on officer elections and recent personnel changes at its March 16, 2026 regular meeting.
The commission said elections held March 1 resulted in Kevin Asklar being listed as chief; Spike Daniel as deputy chief; Todd Cohen as assistant chief; Jason Bevans and Kyle Szemreylo as fire captains; Rich Antonelli as rescue captain; and Charlie Grossmann, Nick Starkowski and Paul Zabulis as lieutenants. Chris Wherry was listed as rescue lieutenant. Commissioners offered congratulations to the newly elected officers.
Meeting minutes also recorded that Dylan Boutet, the town’s Building Maintenance Manager, and Jim Grossmann, the Public Works Manager, have resigned. The town asked residents to contact Town Manager David Porter for public-works needs during and after office hours until those positions are filled.
The report to the commission did not include dates for when the resignations became effective, nor did it state timelines for filling the vacant positions.
