Franklin County Legislature approves budget amendments, personnel appointments and routine county actions

At the Jan. 17 meeting the board reappointed William Wood and Ralph Child to the Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District Board (terms to Dec. 31, 2021) and appointed Jason Murray Director of Veterans Services effective Jan. 28, 2019, at a salary of $50,000 (Resolution No. 11). Resolution No. 12 approved sale of a county-owned tax-foreclosed parcel in the Town of Malone to Robert D. Young for $24,470.89. The board accepted $31,976.00 in SCAAP grant funds for the Sheriff's Department and authorized payment of 22% ($7,034.72) to Justice Benefits, Inc., with the remaining $24,941.28 appropriated to the jail's physicians line item (Resolution No. 13).
Other routine actions included acceptance of a donation of one transit bus from the City of Amsterdam for county transportation use (Resolution No. 14), and multiple civic recognition resolutions honoring local Eagle Scouts and retiring medical staff.
