The Franklin County Legislature appointed Jasen Lawrence as the county's Tourism Promotion Agent (TPA) and approved related appointments and reappointments during November sessions.
At a Nov. 14 special meeting, the Economic Development Committee moved to amend a previous matching-fund resolution to add the Tourism Promotion Agent's name; the amendment authorized James McKenna, Executive Director of the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST), and Jasen Lawrence to apply for $220,400 in matching funds. The Legislature then appointed Jasen Lawrence as Franklin County's TPA by resolution.
On Nov. 21 the Legislature reappointed members to the Franklin County Tourism Advisory Board (Gil Paddock, Bruce Monette, Chris LaBarge and Brian McDonnell) to staggered three-year terms. The Legislature also appointed seven members to the Franklin County Industrial Development Agency Board for one-year terms starting Jan. 1, 2020.
Legislators moved these appointments by resolution and approved them by unanimous vote in the minutes. The appointments will enable the county to proceed with tourism marketing and matching-fund applications through ROOST and to keep advisory boards staffed for economic development work.
