Board warned of steep press-box repair costs; cafeteria freezer replacement approved for Thursday

An earlier informal estimate of about $150,000 four years ago now “is probably looking at double,” a board member said, signaling potential sticker shock for that capital work.
Separately, Mr. Marks described repeated failures of a cafeteria condenser and overhead unit; the board heard that repairs have been attempted several times over the past two years and replacement should be funded from the cafeteria fund so the general fund is not affected. The board agreed to approve NA Refrigeration’s work at Thursday’s meeting to move forward with the replacement.
District staff flagged the need to balance timing and funding for stadium and food-service projects, and said any larger stadium project would likely be planned for the off-season to allow engineering and bidding work.
