The Eastern York School District board voted to create an ad hoc financial advisory committee as item 12.1 on the agenda, following a brief discussion about the policy requirement that the president recommend and the board approve such committees.
Board members moved and seconded the motion and carried it by voice vote. One board member asked why a vote was required to form an ad hoc committee; administrators explained that board policy requires presidential recommendation and board approval for such committees.
During the meeting, Treasurer Mr. Marks introduced the district's new director of buildings and grounds, Jamie Pratt, who will begin around August 4 and will work with outgoing facilities lead Mr. Hoover on the transition.
The board also approved routine consent and fiscal motions (items 5.1–5.9, 6.1–6.3, 7.1, 8.1–8.5, 9.1–9.3) by voice votes. The chair noted that staff will provide a report on the costs and revenues associated with recent tax appeals and that the financial advisory committee will be part of the district's process for reviewing budgets and long-term financial planning.
All motions on the consent agenda were carried by voice vote; no recorded roll-call tallies were read into the record.
